The Intermountain Center For Autism and Child Development (ICACD) is a for profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, adolescents, and young adults with autism and related disorders through empirically-based interventions and state of the art individualized programs.
In February 2003 Dr. Whitney arrived in Idaho following formal fellowship training in pediatric neuropsychology (Henry Ford Health Systems-Detroit) and developmental psychology (The Connections Center-Houston). In October 2004, Dr. Whitney began independent practice in Idaho. He completed licensure requirements for independent practice in the state of Idaho and was approved by the Board of Psychological Examiners in March 2005. Dr. Whitney is currently also licensed as a psychologist independently in Utah.
The genesis for ICACD came from Dr. Whitney's experiences with families in Idaho. His vision was born out of conversations with patient's families about the tremendous burden they faced in trying to obtain thoughtful, comprehensive services for their children with autism spectrum disorders. Although the demands are increasing exponentially, the options remain limited in Idaho, as they are in many areas across the United States. To answer those needs, Dr. Whitney gathered a group of committed parents and highly experienced and dedicated therapists from around the region to form a center where families could entrust their children for integrated intervention services.
In February 2006, Dr. Whitney and his staff moved into the new, state of the art Intermountain Center For Autism and Child Development, at it's current location. Dr. Whitney, with the assistance of many experienced colleagues, designed and oversaw the planning and construction of this facility.
