Diagnosis and Assessment
The Intermountain Center For Autism and Child Development (ICACD) Clinic employs a highly effective, multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental disorders. At ICACD, we conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, program consultation, social groups, individual counseling and intervention. A licensed clinical psychologist conducts or supervises all clinical work.
ICACD can establish contracts with outpatient clinics, residential or therapeutic programs, and school districts who are seeking training for children with autism spectrum disorder in their programming and classrooms. Training can focus on assessment and diagnosis of individual children as well as setting up individualized treatment programs or entire classrooms, and can be from a variety of disciplines, including psychology, speech language pathology, and occupational therapy.
Follow-up Services
ICACD offers follow-up intervention to children and families. Follow-up services include skill building groups for children, adolescents and adults with high functioning autism/asperger's syndrome, individual counseling for children, adolescents and adults, parent or co-therapist treatment sessions for children, and parent driven relationally based services for all developmental levels and individuals up to the age of (21); with some exceptions.
ICACD philosophy recognizes that children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental differences, including autism spectrum disorders require comprehensive intervention services that are often delivered through community programs, such as school systems and community services (IBI / DT). ICACD staff provides consultation to schools and community programs, at a parents or programs request.
Health care professionals were recruited and are trained under the supervision of Tyler Whitney, Psy.D., a dual-fellowship trained pediatric clinical psychologist, staff the clinic. Post-graduate level psychologists, occupational and speech therapists, social workers and child life specialists regularly comprise the clinicÕs professional staff. The clinic is open weekdays.
Families interested in having their children seen in our clinic should ask their primary-care physicians (PCP) to submit a referral to ICACD at (208) 888-7104. Insurance and self-pay options are available.
Research into the causes and most effective treatments for these disorders is a critical function of ICACD. We welcome your participation in our clinical research studies.
Thank you for your support and commitment to our staff and programming.
Sincerely,
Tyler T. Whitney, Psy.D.
